The villa from 1900 in Lyngby near Copenhagen, had a fairly small and unusable back yard with concrete slabs and was used merely as a storage area for bikes and gardening equipment. By adding double doors, leading from the kitchen/dining room and raising up a wraparound deck, with inbuilt planters and seating, we managed to create a wonderful and versatile area that the family can use all year round, both for social events but also a great space to just chill and hang out in. After having lived with it for a few years, the family has now decided on adding a rain cover over parts of it so it can be used summer and winter—come rain or snow. A perfect party area.
